Dr. Amnon Rothman

Principle Investigator

Dr. Amnon Rothman is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, specializing in the nucleation and growth of thin films and 2D materials. Dr. Rothman holds a BSc and MSc in Materials Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he developed expertise in materials characterization and mechanical properties of advanced ceramics. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science, focusing on the growth mechanisms of surface-guided semiconductor nanowires and developing new in situ growth techniques using electron microscopy. He then joined the Chemical Engineering Department at Stanford University as a postdoctoral researcher, investigating atomic layer deposition (ALD) mechanisms for noble metals on low-energy surfaces, integrating experimental techniques with theoretical modeling. His expertise spans advanced surface and electron microscopy characterization techniques, thin-film deposition, and nanomaterials synthesis.
